Dedication by Schumann/Liszt has always been one of my favorite classical repertoire. In 1840, Robert Schumann wrote many songs, including this love song ( German Lied), which was later transcribed by Franz Liszt. This piano work is a perfect example of the German romantic, songlike qualities of Schumann's works, coupled with the excellence of Liszt's compositional style. The moment I watched Cinema Paradiso, it has become my favorite movie ever since. One of the greatest Italian films, Cinema Paradiso (1988) is a special, timeless classic that made me smile and tear at the same time. It inhibits themes of nostalgia, love, loss, human connection, and much more. As written in one of the movie reviews by William Stottor: "Cinema Paradiso dares the audience to dream, to reflect, to ground oneself in reality but also to embrace the beauties of life". This song is one of the theme songs from the movie. Originally written by Ennio Morricone, it has been performed by many different artists on various instruments including cello and violin.
